Homeward Bound

So here we all are, our last day in Madrid.

There were lots of hugs and tears as we said goodbye to our Spanish exchange partners at the school.

San Juan Bautista School

The girls spent a very interesting day in school attending lessons with their exchange partners.

They had the opportunity to practise their listening skills in order to understand what was being said throughout each lesson.

Tonight everyone is heading out for a farewell meal.

Note to Parents: Road works on Clarkehouse Road

Due to road works Clarkehouse Road is closed from 7pm tomorrow evening (Wednesday) so the coach will be dropping off on Glossop Road by the Sixth Form Centre.

We're leaving the Sixth Form Centre car park open so that you could use this if you wish, or pick up directly on Glossop Road.

Late Pics from Toledo

Have just found these in my 'Junk' email folder.  How dare Microsoft do that to our blog pics?!

The girls loved eating the churros in the Chocolateria San Gines as the photos show

Making the Most of Madrid - Monday

Everyone was a little sleepy this morning after a wonderful, packed weekend spent with their exchange families. We savoured the sights of Madrid on our city bus tour...the Palacio Real, Gran Via and the Bernabeu to name just a few.

'Turistas en Toledo'

A lively day enjoying the sights of Toledo, a beautiful UNESCO World Heritage site.

We learned about the history of Spain at the Army Museum and meandered around the old cobbled streets.

The Cathedral was stunning and the squares relaxing. Lots of tapas, ice cream and sunshine topped off the day.
A slight detour on the way back to the bus station only added to the fun (we weren't lost honestly!)

All in all a great day!

A fantastic first day sightseeing in Madrid!

After a short walk from the metro, we enjoyed the Plaza Mayor with its elegant architecture.
